Prove me .. my heart – Psa. 139:1-2. This is part of the Song of Moses and the Lamb. |
| 3 For thy loving-kindness is before mine eyes, and I have walked in thy truth. |

thy lovingkindness is before mine eyes – We can see the loving character of our God as manifest in the Divine Plan of the Ages.
I have walked in thy truth – The church, seeing God's character causes them to respond by faithfully walking in His Truth. |
| 4 I have not sat with vain persons, neither have I gone in with dissemblers; |

| 6 I will wash my hands in innocency, and will encompass thine altar, O Jehovah, |
|
I will wash my hands – The hands indicate activity. In order to properly be active in the Lord's service we must first be clean, thus the washing of the hands.
So will I compass thine altar – This is the altar of sacrifice. The bullock (picturing our Lord Jesus) was sacrificed on the brazen altar. This provides for our Justification. |
